How to reach
Fly Islamabad → Gilgit (55 min, weather-dependent), then a 2.5-hour drive to Karimabad. Overland is a scenic 18–20 hour drive along the Karakoram Highway (KKH).
Getting around
Local vans, jeeps and hired cars connect villages along the KKH. For upper Hunza (Passu, Sost, Khunjerab), hire a 4x4 with a local driver.
Best time to visit
April (cherry blossom), May–June (green valleys), September–October (autumn colours). Winter is beautiful but many roads to upper Hunza close.

- Day 1 — Arrive Karimabad, sunset at Eagle's Nest.
- Day 2 — Baltit & Altit forts, walk through old Ganish village.
